While you work with your Artist, Sara offers added support and assistance leading up to your wedding day, if required.

Welcome to By Sara & Co! I’m Sara, the founder, Senior Makeup Artist and the face behind the emails. With over 15 years in the industry, my passion for makeup and weddings continues to grow. My journey began in the corporate world, but my creative itch led me to train in makeup artistry. After having my first child, I took the leap to pursue my passion full-time.
In January 2020, I launched SDMU, bringing together a team of talented freelance Makeup and Tanning Artists. This year, we’ve expanded to include some insanely talented Bridal Hair Stylists, allowing us to offer a complete bridal beauty service.

Founder and Senior Makeup Artist
In 2021 my husband and I manifested a move to Galway and 2 years later we made the move from Bristol to Galway to live, along with our two dogs! Fast forward to now, and we’re all settled in and loving life here. With over 12 years of experience as a makeup artist, I’m so grateful to have helped countless people feel confident and beautiful. It’s a passion I hold close to my heart, and I take great pride in making every client feel special. The world of makeup is always evolving, so I’m constantly learning new techniques and sourcing the best products to ensure every look is flawless. I’ve had the privilege of travelling to Portugal, Italy and the UK for destination weddings as well as all over Ireland and look forward to helping you bring your dream vision to life wherever your wedding takes you.
I have been in the hair industry for over 20 years and could not imagine anything else. I feel so fortunate to have gained incredible opportunities to work in salons, both in Ireland and internationally, including 7 years in the Cayman Islands where I worked with a high-end clientele and gained extensive experience as a wedding hairstylist. That ignited my passion for the bridal industry, so on my return to Ireland, decided to specialise and become a freelance Bridal Hair Stylist. I have the best job in the world and get to meet the most fabulous people, I look forward to hopefully meeting you too!
After years of hairdressing in a salon, working on photoshoots, teaching in college and assessing new stylists, I realised I always had a particular passion for bridal hair and styling so decided to go freelance and follow my dreams to be a full time bridal hair specialist, which I have done now for 15 years and still absolutely love! I will create styles for you and your bridal party that feel beautiful, natural and above all comfortable! Creating hairstyles that compliment your style and personality. My experience has taught me to read people well! Rest assured I’ll walk into your home or venue on your special day prompt, with a calming smile, empathy and an organised time sheet to help manage the morning prep. It is a great privilege to be selected as a hairstylist for a wedding or special occasion. As well as professionalism and great hair skills I’d like to think I add an element of calmness and fun to such an important day.
With over 10 years in the makeup industry, I specialise in bridal and destination weddings, alongside photoshoots and editorial work. My training originated with special FX & media makeup, which gave me a thorough understanding of skin, structure, and longevity – skills that now translate into each bridal look I create (minus the prosthetics & fake blood!). I’m based between Co Clare and Montpellier in the south of France, as well as traveling to Italy and Spain for destination weddings.
My makeup style would be soft glam with an emphasis on enhancing rather than masking. I focus on enhancing your natural beauty so you still feel completely like yourself on the day. Alongside my work as a makeup artist, I wrote a weekly beauty column for a Limerick newspaper, covering trends, techniques, and interviews with leading beauty experts keeping me closely connected to an ever-evolving industry. It would be an honour to have you in my chair and create your glam for your special day.
I lead a busy life as both a make-up artist and a full-time Home Economics and Irish teacher in the Gaeltacht. Three years ago, I decided to follow my passion for beauty and qualified as a make-up artist with the Sculpted By Aimee Academy in Dublin. I now specialise in occasion make-up and love helping clients feel confident for their special events. I also enjoy combining my two careers by offering make-up lessons, through English or as Gaeilge, bringing together my love of teaching and beauty.
My journey into makeup has been an organic one. Having turned my back on the ‘big job’ in the Corporate world to follow my passion for makeup, I went about getting some training and so began the journey into the career of a makeup artist and I absolutely love what I do. I specialise in bridal and event makeup as well as lessons for people looking to expand their makeup skills.
